Managing Principal

Jim is a Managing Principal and leads the firm’s private sector practice that includes residential, commercial/industrial, office, and hospitality. With over 37 years of experience as an architect, planner, designer, project manager, project director, and director of architecture on a wide range of project types, he is knowledgeable about all aspects of project development. 

Since 2012, Jim has been playing an invaluable leadership role and has contributed to the firm’s growth in residential, mixed-use and affordable housing . He has completed more than 15,000 units and several million square feet of new construction, redevelopment, rehabilitation, renovation, and adaptive re-use. With Jim’s strong leadership and industry experience, he has worked alongside many industry-leading private and non-profit developers, as well as having completed numerous award-winning projects. He continually strives to maintain the firm’s reputation in technical excellence through mentoring our studio staff and educating clients. Jim received his Bachelor of Architecture from USC’s School of Architecture.
