The Digital Media Arts Center recently received a design award from the American Institute of Architects, Orange County Chapter. The newest addition to the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University was presented with a Citation Award at the recent ceremony held at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point.
Phase II Student Housing project at CSU Northridge received a Merit Award for Design Excellence from the San Fernando Valley Chapter AIA. The project is designed to provide a variety of open spaces to encourage socialization and to cultivate a campus lifestyle appropriate for freshman students.
AC Martin's design for Fertitta Hall at USC has received the Award for Excellence in Educational & Spiritual Design from the Architectural Precast Association. The APA describes the building as "simple and elegant," "a beautiful building and integration of forms, and materials."
The 104,000 SF building includes a library/collaboration room, 21 classrooms— two of which are active learning—a 150-seat lecture hall, 50 breakout rooms, and an improved Experiential Learning Center. Also included is a café, lounge, offices for the undergraduate program and the admissions office.
The Engineering & Interdisciplinary Sciences (EIS) Complex at San Diego State University been awarded a Project Achievement Award by the CMAA (Construction Management Achievement Awards) - Education Project with a Construction Value Greater Than $50 million. In partnership with Clark Construction, AC Martin Partners designed this 81,500 GSF building, a significant addition to SDSU's STEM programs.
The Gates-Thomas Laboratory on Caltech’s campus in Pasadena has just been certified LEED Gold v4 in the BD+C, New Construction category. As part of the USGBC’s pilot program for this newest version of LEED, the project met a more stringent set of criteria becoming the first project in California and the first higher education facility in the United States to reach Gold under BD+C v4.
